    October 14, 2008
    6:30 pmto8:30 pm

The new book for pick up at the Tuesday Oct 14th meeting is Empire Falls by Richard Russo.  Richard Russo has demonstrated a peerless affinity for the human tragicomedy, and with this stunning novel he extends even further his claims on the small-town, blue collar heart of the country.
Empire Falls reveals our worst and best instincts, both our most appalling nightmares and our simplest hopes, with all the vision, grace and humanity of truly epic storytelling.

MOOSE In New York State Program

Posted by chedger on 2nd October 2008

    October 7, 2008
    7:00 pmto9:00 pm

The moose population in the Adirondacks continues to grow.  After more than a century without moose, the species began to return to the Adirondacks in the 1980’s.  In the fall of 2007, the D.E.C. estimated that there were about 500 moose in the Adirondack region.  Now that we have gone through another breeding cycle, the number has changed.  What is it now and where have they been seen? D.E.C Wildlife Biologist Ed Reed will answer that and more during his program entitled, “Moose in New York State.”
This program is free and will be held in the library’s community room.  Please use the side door.  Light refreshments will be served.  Program funding is provided by the Town of Lake Luzerne and Warren County.

    Crafter’s Corner Group

Posted by chedger on 27th September 2008

    October 23, 2008
    12:00 pmto3:00 pm

We have a new group that is meeting once a month at the library.  It is a craftors group.  This is not a class.  Bring your own project.  Whatever you are working on is fine.  If you are doing jewelry, cross stitch, plastic canvas,  knitting or whatever else, bring it.  It is a chance to see what other people are doing and chat for a few hours.  As one of our group members have said, “It is 3 hours I can knit without feeling guilty.”  Another member has expressed the need to “get started” on a new project, so the regular meeting will help there too.

This group will meet the fourth Thursday of every month from 12:00-3:00.  It is not required you are there at the start.  You can stay for the whole 3 hours or come for part of it.  It is relaxed and informal group.
