The Hadley-Luzerne Public Library is launching an exciting program this spring called, “Let’s Have A Chat.” The program is designed to engage the library and our community in a conversation about, well, our community.
Eighteen months ago, the library completed a survey addressing our patrons’ perceptions about how our library serves your needs. The results of that survey encouraged us to make some changes. For example, we assessed our building, moved shelves and collections for easier access, and moved our conference area to the large space at the back of the building to give the public a more comfortable atmosphere in which to attend lectures and other programs. We assessed our inventories, evaluated, and developed a variety of services and programs as an effort to enhance your library experience within our walls and online. Yes, we listened to you and tried our best to meet your needs. We want to continue responding to you. But we need more of your help.
The Hadley-Luzerne Public Library’s “Let’s Have A Chat” program seeks to develop a community conversation on a variety of levels and it’s easy to participate. All you have to do is speak with us about our community. Our library is quite unique. We serve towns in Saratoga and Warren Counties—Hadley, Lake Luzerne, Stony Creek, Day, and parts of Corinth. We have an interesting mix of people who live and work here—professionals, non-professionals, students, artists, writers, and a large summer population. Our library strives to meet everyone’s needs.
Over the coming months volunteers will be out on our streets and at our fairs with short questionnaires asking you about your perceptions of our community. We will be speaking with our community leaders and business owners as well. We will ask you to share your ideas and interests about life here. Talk to us. Tell us what you think. Your information will help us fulfill our role as an information and community center. We appreciate your insight and ideas. They are instrumental in helping us all move forward together.
Always remember: We are your library. Come join us.
Feel free to contact the library for any information regarding this program.
