Mark Frost Chronicle Publisher to speak Thursday, June 7, 7pm

THURSDAY, JUNE 7, 7 PM – HADLEY-LUZERNE PUBLIC LIBRARY   IN COOPERATION WITH THE HADLEY-LAKE LUZERNE HISTORICAL SOCIETY

HOW AN INDEPENDENT, LOCALLY OWNED NEWSPAPER THRIVES IN THE DIGITAL AGE IN THE ADIRONDACKS

 THE CHRONICLE NEWSPAPER, A WEEKLY PUBLICATION COVERING THE ADIRONDACKS, IS OPERATED BY PUBLISHER MARK FROST WHO WAS BORN AND RAISED IN GLENS FALLS. HE STARTED HIS CAREER WRITING FOR THE GLENS FALLS TIMES AT THE AGE OF 14. HE WENT TO UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND LAW SCHOOL WHERE HE GRADUATED CUM LAUDE. IN 1980, HE STARTED THE CHRONICLE WITH A $1700 INVESTMENT AND IT GREW INTO THE MAJOR NORTHEASTERN WEEKLY IT IS TODAY. THE CHRONICLE COVERS THE ADIRONDACKS, AND, THRIVING IN SPITE OF THE CHALLENGES FACING TODAY’S PRINT MEDIA.
